K-Designers - Permit Coordinator

 The Permit Coordinator will be responsible for managing the permitting process for various projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and government agencies. 

 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Permit Application Management: Prepare, submit, and track permit applications for construction, environmental, and other regulatory approvals. 
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on local, state, and federal permitting regulations and ensure all projects comply with these standards. 
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies regarding permitting issues. 
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all permits, correspondence, and project documentation in an organized manner.  
  • Follow-Up: Monitor the status of permit applications and follow up with relevant agencies to expedite processing. 
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to management on the status of permits and any potential issues that may arise. 
  • Training and Support: Assist in training staff on permitting processes and best practices. 

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 

  • Ability to complete projects timely and accurately 
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills 
  • Must be able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment  
  • Familiarity with construction practices and terminology. 
  • Experience with environmental regulations and compliance. 
  • Certification or training related to permitting or project management. 

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, construction management, urban planning) is preferred. 
  • Previous experience in permit coordination or a related role. 
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting processes. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and permit management software 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
