Great Day Improvements - Dynamics 365 F&O Solutions Architect

 

As the Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Solution Architect, you will the lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise level manufacturing and financial systems across Great Day Improvements. The role bridges technical architecture, business process design, and operations, creating a unified digital ecosystem that connects shop floor activity with financial outcomes.

 

This architect partners with Finance, Accounting, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and IT leadership to standardize processes, automate key steps, and establish governance and data integrity across manufacturing divisions.

 

The role is both strategic and hands on, guiding scalable, compliant, and efficient ERP solutions aligned to Great Day’s growth and operating model.

 

Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture and Strategy

  • Architect, design, and optimize end-to-end solutions in Dynamics 365 F&O with a focus on Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Inventory, Finance, and Cost Accounting.
  • Define and enforce ERP architecture standards, integration patterns, and governance practices across business units.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership so system architecture aligns with long term enterprise strategy, scalability, and digital goals.
  • Partner with CRM, CPQ, and eCommerce teams for seamless flow from customer quote through production to financial realization.
  • Build and maintain a roadmap for F&O module expansion, version upgrades, and upcoming capabilities.

 

Business Process Leadership

  • Partner with Finance and Accounting on accurate cost rollups, production variances, and consistent financial reporting across the enterprise.
  • Work with Manufacturing and Operations to standardize production processes including BOMs, routing, MRP, and shop floor control while improving traceability of materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Improve quote to cash and procure to pay processes with strong data quality and visibility across manufacturing and sales operations.
  • Champion master data governance and lead a single source of truth for inventory, financials, and operational metrics.

 

Governance, Compliance, and Security

  • Implement ERP governance frameworks that adhere to IT General Controls and SOX standards.
  • Document architectural decisions, maintain traceability, and lead audit readiness reviews for manufacturing and finance processes.
  • Collaborate with Security and Compliance so ERP designs align with corporate risk posture and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Promote consistent change management, testing, and release management across all Dynamics 365 environments.

 

Technical Delivery and Execution

  • Lead design, configuration, testing, and deployment of Dynamics 365 F&O modules with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Oversee integrations with Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Azure services, and 3rd manufacturing or logistics systems.
  • Advance DevOps practices including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and controlled release cycles.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex issues and key architecture decisions during projects and ongoing operations.

 

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Mentor functional analysts, developers, and business users and promote collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate ERP strategy, roadmap, and outcomes to executive and operational leaders.
  • Partner with the PMO and business leadership so initiatives deliver measurable results tied to Great Day Improvements priorities.
  • Promote learning, innovation, and accountability across business and technical teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting, or related field. Master’s preferred.
  • Eight or more years with Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365 F&O, including at least three years in a solution architect or senior technical design role.
  • Proven record designing and implementing F&O solutions across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Cost Accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost flows linking production, labor, and materials to the general ledger.
  • Experience in multi-site, multi-brand, or multi-entity manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting US and Canadian financial and tax regulations, including GAAP/IFRS compliance, sales tax (GST/HST), and cross-country reporting.
  • Deep understanding of SDLC, DevOps, and ERP change management practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with ITGC and SOX controls in ERP programs.
  • Clear communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams.

 

Preferred Certifications and Experience

  • Microsoft Certified Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Solution Architect Expert MB 700.
  • Experience integrating Microsoft 365, Power BI, Power Platform, or Azure Data Lake with D365.
  • Background with CPQ, CRM, or WMS integrations.
  • Industry experience in manufacturing, construction, or consumer products.
  • Familiarity with data governance and master data management frameworks.
