Great Day Improvements - Corporate Accounting Manager

 

As Accounting Manager, The Accounting Manager will coordinate and participate in the design, testing, implementation, and review of complex manual and automated financial and accounting systems and processes. Additionally, they will coordinate the monthly financial reporting for the Great Day Canadian subsidiary.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing intercompany billings to divisions and reconciling such accounts monthly.
• Responsible for preparing daily accounts receivable agings on a daily basis for newly acquired divisions.
• Investigate and maintain the summary of financial reporting adjustments included in creating the consolidation of the financial statements for the enterprise.
• Review, analyze and prepare monthly journal entries for month end close related to general corporate accounting processes.
• Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules for the Great Day parent company.
• Research variances and unusual items noted in the reconciliation process.
• Recommend changes in accounting systems and procedures.
• Work with independent auditors and insurance department auditors to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.
• Complete month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely reporting of Great Day Improvements, LLC and Great Day Improvements Canada, Inc.
• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Understand and explain variances to prior periods, forecast and plan for areas of responsibility.
• Assist in identifying potential process improvements, documenting new policies and procedures, and contributing to sound internal control development.
• Operate as an innovative thought leader and independently implement effective and successful changes to processes or methodology.
• Cross train as back-ups for other staff in the case of emergencies.

• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong research, organizational and project management skills
• Experience working in an environment requiring analytical response to a variety of business issues.
• Highly organized and ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities.
• Ability to communicate with present information, both verbally and written effectively with all levels of the organization
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA a plus.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 1–2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• CPA preferred.
