Great Day Improvements - Product Configuration System Analyst

 

As the Product Configuration System Analyst, your responsibilities will include supporting CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) functionality, performing cost estimation for configurable products, organizing and conducting data analysis, and auditing bill of materials (BOMs)to identify opportunities that enhance operational efficiency. This role is essential to work directly with IT, MFG, Accounting, and Product Development to plan and execute the details required to implement and support the Enterprise third-party configurator software, as it integrates with ERP and MRP systems successfully.

Responsibilities

• Manage CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) functionality, including product configuration, pricing activities, and cost estimation for configurable products.
• Maintain and own product configuration logic, including BOM (Bill of Materials) accuracy, pricing structures, rules, proposals, and system documentation to ensure consistency and integration across ERP and MRP systems.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and alignment of configuration data by conducting audits and data analysis, resolving discrepancies, and supporting financial and operational decision-making.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on product configuration platforms and tools, bringing new competencies and knowledge to the team, and incorporating market learnings while balancing internal practices.
• Lead the implementation, enhancement, and support of third-party product configurator software and related integrations with ERP and MRP systems.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and system configurations, ensuring solutions are technically sound, user-friendly, and aligned with organizational goals.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including IT, Manufacturing, Engineering, Accounting, and Product Development to ensure data consistency and alignment across systems and departments.
• Evaluate and enhance workflows, configuration logic, and system performance to continuously improve the user experience, operational efficiency, and configurator effectiveness.
• Support system-related initiatives, including implementations, migrations, upgrades, and validation testing of configuration rules, pricing models, and technical changes.

• Provide end-user support and training, troubleshoot ERP and configuration system issues, and manage related support tickets and enhancement requests.
• Advocate for ongoing improvements, leveraging user feedback and data insights to improve the configurator platform, enhance functionality, and optimize performance.
• Manage project communications and updates through meetings, documentation, issue-tracking tools, and regular stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of BOM, ERP, MRP, and PLM systems; prior use of product configurators and understanding of product structures.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or product development environment is preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities; able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proven success in delivering system implementations, upgrades, or process optimizations.
• Skilled at working across departments and translating technical concepts for diverse audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
• Self-motivated and adaptable; able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to work effectively across functions and time zones.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (10–25%) and support business needs that may require flexible work hours.


Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Business, IT, Management Engineering, or related field.
• 1+ years of experience in business analysis, cost estimation, CPQ (configuration, price quote) /ERP/PLM system implementation, or manufacturing system support.
• Experience Agile project methodologies is a plus.
• Previous experience managing complex product catalogs and configuration logic at scale.


Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Must be able to lift 50 to 100 pounds and additional weight with assistance.
