Great Day Improvements - Permit Coordinator
Full time up to $25 Hourly based on qualifications + Benefits

As the Permit Coordinator, you will be responsible for submitting and applying for all permitted projects sold. This role is pivotal in ensuring that permitting processes are completed efficiently and effectively, with the goal of delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. Managing multiple projects simultaneously, the Permit Coordinator will foster strong relationships with local government offices and other external entities to streamline operations.
• Oversee and manage all permit applications for multiple projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and local municipal laws and codes.
• Interface regularly with customers, contractors, and government officials to facilitate permit approvals and resolve any issues.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve permitting efficiency, including anticipating delays and proactively addressing them.
• Maintain and update permit tracking systems, ensuring all documentation is current and accessible.
• Monitor and manage engineering fees and permitting costs to align with project budgets.
• Train staff and provide guidance on permitting processes, ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
• Collaborate with the Permit Manager to align permitting activities with company objectives and address escalations when necessary.
• Adherence to JUMP process
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
1. Permit Turnaround Times: Achieve or exceed established timelines for permit approvals.
a. Submittals within 24 hours of drawing receipt
b. Bi-weekly updates on all active permits on contracts inside of 56 days old (eight weeks), weekly updates on all active permits on contracts outside of 56 days old (eight weeks) from contract signing. Updates are to be noted in all CRM systems.
2. Error Rates: Maintain minimal errors in permit applications, ensuring compliance with regulations.
3. Operate with full autonomy while consulting the Permit Manager as needed to ensure alignment with company goals.
4. Manage overall flow of permitting process from submittal to receipt and delivery to home
5. Manage permit submittal to approval timeframes to 30-90 days based on municipality.
6. Log, track, and retain files on all permitting offices, requirements, contacts, and code nuances in publicly shared Permit Log for sales and operations staff to use.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in permitting, construction management, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of Florida building codes, including environmental and coastal permitting regulations.
• Proficiency in using company systems such as Laserfiche and Production Log.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage relationships with government officials, contractors, and customers.
• Proven ability to train and advise teams on permitting compliance and best practices.
