Champion Window - Manufacturing Painter Level I and II

 

We are seeking to two level I painters and one level painter, grow with us!!

 

The Manufacturing Painter Level II applies basecoat to windows and component surfaces using an Sames/Kremlin Prima Air Spray System at a high degree of quality and accuracy. Reviews surface for any defects and qualifies any repairs completed by the prep team. May be required to prepare surfaces for painting by wiping all surfaces with cleaner to removing oil, grease, excess paint and other contaminants. Primes surfaces as necessary. Will review production labels to identify appropriate colors to be applied to the window and components. Performs all critical paint checks and audits, Manometer readings, viscosity tests, flow tests, nozzle pattern, tip wear test and wet film thickness. Will train operators for their development into painters and back-up painters.

 

Pay Range:  $20.00 - $25.00 / per hour  (Level I $20 per hour and Level II $25.00 per hour)

Responsibilities

• Effectively apply paint to windows & components, with Sames/Kremlin Prima Air Spray System.
• High level of responsibility to identify defects and make decisions for what meets customer expectations.
• Responsibility to minimize Quality impact while meeting customer quality expectations.
• Maintain Area and Equipment Cleanliness, including spray equipment, booth and work area.
• Maintain efficient operation and output to meet customer demand.
• Other duties assigned by supervisor/management
• Properly utilize all required and recommended PPE while complying with Safety Guidelines and Regulations.


Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
• Advanced Spray Equipment Operation and ability to Troubleshoot
• Advanced Painting Application Techniques and Knowledge
o Fan Pattern / Overlap / Speed / Film Thickness / Distance
• Read and Interpret production labels to identify color(s) required
• Ability to decipher and understand production labels to select proper coating/color to apply.
• High Degree of Knowledge regarding painting/staining concepts, practices, and procedures.
• High attention to detail, and ability to detect defects.
• Ability to effectively work with minimal supervision
• High degree of personal quality standards, creativity and willingness to improve.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma
• Excellent Team Dynamics
• Manufacturing Experience Preferred.
• 2+ level I and 5+ level II years of experience in the field of Paint/Stain application or in a related area


Physical / Mental Demands:
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs., bending, twisting, stooping, excellent dexterity.
• Must work at a fast pace, fast pace is physically demanding.
• Strong eye/hand coordination. Standing for long continuous hours. Lifting buckets of paint.
• Constant attention to detail and accuracy of material placement.
• Concentration on proper lifting and ensure floors are kept free of debris.
