Manufacturing Supervisor – 3rd Shift– 9:30pm to 7:00am SUNDAY - THURSDAY MANDATORY

 

SIX SIGMA CERTIFICATION REQUIRED/PREFERRED

 

THIS POSITION PAYS UP TO $68K BASED ON EXPERIENCE


Summary:

 

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading their department, ensuring the daily production
schedule is met, team members are working safely and following policies, and fostering a continuous improvement
mindset/environment. They will also be developing Team Leads and associates to improve their manufacturing
capabilities.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:


• Drive day-to-day department activities to meet daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly expectations. Lead
daily operations and continuous improvement efforts which include but are not limited to safety, quality,
production, on-time delivery, and inventory improvements.
• Effectively communicate with entire team on expectations, schedule, production requirements, safety concerns
and other applicable information for team members.
• Set daily team goals and communicate to team leads the expectations for the day. May included assigning team
members to workstations and directing the work of subordinates.
• Monitor the hour-by-hour production of the team to ensure daily production goals are met and corrective
actions are implemented if required.
• Measure, communicate and improve group performance statistics and act as an agent to support improvement
activities that achieve established improvement goals.
• Supports and oversees departmental safety and ensures compliance with corporate and facility safety policies.
• Establish manufacturing priorities and coordinate activities with management and other plant supervisors.
• Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Observe work and monitor other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing
standards.
• Support new employees and cross training on equipment with Team Lead(s) to ensure departmental flexibility
and growth.
• Monitors the condition of the work area regarding organization, cleanliness, and 5S+1
• Reduce operational costs, inventories, and lead times through continuous improvement efforts.
• Promote a team environment and develop team members to support an autonomous environment.
• Counsel employees on behavior/performance/attendance issues and initiates disciplinary actions if required.
• Engage in managerial meetings to review daily production results & troubleshoot labor, quality, and safety
discrepancies.
• Leads by example to encourage desired performance and overall growth of the team.
• Additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


• High School diploma or GED
• 5 years of progressive production experience in a manufacturing environment
• Lean Six-Sigma experience preferred.
• Ability to motivate, develop, and direct subordinates as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and verbal/written communication skills.
• Able to lead a diverse group of employees.
• Ability to give on-the-job training to new employees.
• Effectively manage time, prioritize duties and delegate as needed.
• Knowledge in safe operations of power tools, equipment, and other manufacturing tools/equipment.
• Ability to be a leader in a team-oriented environment.
• Desire to continually develop personnel by cross training on all aspects of the manufacturing process.
• Able to understand and comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office and timekeeping software.
